Tyrone Mings makes his England Debut
A massive congratulations to our Aston Villa centre back Tyrone Mings on making his full England debut in last nights 6-0 Euro 2020 Qualifier win against Bulgaria.
Tyrone, not only had to deal with the usual scrutiny that comes with making an England debut but also he had to do it in the face of racist abuse and along with his teammates he emerged victorious.
Our man took no time whatsoever to feel comfortable barking out orders from the back like he was winning his 50th cap not his first.
He oozed confidence, so much so he was able to orchestrate play from the back much like he does every weekend for Villa. That and his leadership was a real asset, quality in possession and intelligence out of it.
Not overly tested defensively, Tyrone passed impeccably on the night, misplacing just four of 89 for a 96 per cent completion rate. To do that in the toxic atmosphere from which his debut will forever be remembered was heroic.
His level of performance and professionalism rose above the hate, and that’s how our mans international bow should be remembered.
