The Times take a look at the impact of Joe Gomez on Liverpools Defence
“Between Liverpool’s second game of the season, against Southampton, and the 5-2 win over Everton, Joe Gomez played a total of 17 minutes. Since he came into the starting line-up against Bournemouth on December 7, the 22-year-old has played every single minute as Liverpool have recorded seven consecutive clean sheets. For good measure, in the same period, Gomez has also played in a 1-0 FA Cup win over Everton, a 2-0 Champions League victory against Salzburg, and wins by 2-1 and 1-0 against Monterrey and Flamengo respectively in the Club World Cup. That’s 11 games, 1,020 minutes, and just one goal conceded with Gomez on the pitch.”
Drink that in… 11 games, 1,020 minutes, and just one goal conceded with Gomez on the pitch that is some stat isn’t it.
There’s no question that Joe is in the form of his life and we couldn’t be more proud of our man!
